We want YOUR stories, recipes, photos, and creativity!

As we head into a brand new year, Valour Community Centre is excited to announce that we are launching a community newsletter! This will be a space to celebrate our neighborhood, highlight the amazing people who make Valour special, and share the stories, memories, and creativity that connect us.

Our community is full of talented, caring, and creative individuals, and we want this newsletter to reflect you. That’s why we’re inviting residents of all ages to take part by submitting content for our upcoming issues.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome a wide range of submissions, including:

  • Family recipes

  • Kid-friendly jokes

  • Community stories or neighbourhood memories

  • Kids’ drawings, artwork, riddles, or short stories

  • Photos (pets, community moments, seasonal neighbourhood shots, etc.)

  • Tips & advice (budgeting, winter prep, parenting, local recommendations)

  • Creative projects (crafts, beadwork, crocheting, paintings—anything you’re proud of!)

  • Anything uplifting or fun you’d love to share

All ages are encouraged to participate—children, youth, adults, and seniors are all welcome to contribute.

Submissions are accepted year-round, and selected pieces will be featured in our upcoming newsletters beginning in the New Year.

Why a Newsletter?

Our goal is simple: To build connection, communication, and community pride across the Clifton Site, Isaac Brock Site, and Orioles Site communities.

We want this to be more than just an update page—we want it to be your newsletter. A place where stories are shared, neighbours uplift one another, and creativity can shine.

Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just joined the neighbourhood, your voice matters. This is a chance for everyone to contribute and help shape something meaningful for our community.

We’d love to feature your submissions in our very first edition launching in early 2026. Send us a recipe, a joke your kids made up, a winter photo you snapped walking to the centre, or a story about what Valour means to you.
